Twin Test 2 is in progress at TU Munich wind tunnel!

Performance and flow field measurements in the wakes of scaled wind turbines will be examined, in order to clarify the wake interactions of a cluster of turbines and to decide on the wind farm control through wind turbines wake manipulation techniques. For this purpose the used model turbines have integrated torque, pitch and yaw control capabilities.

Wake flow measurements will be conducted at TUM, NTUA, TU Delft and PoliMi using fast-response pressure probes, hot wire anemometry and PIV. WT tests will be supported by CFD ALM-LES aerodynamic simulations of the tested configurations, performed by NTUA and TUM.  Simulation data will enhance and complement the databases of measured data sets.
