Twin Test 2 tests in TUM Wind Tunnel
The Twin Test 2 (TWT2) tests in TUM Wind Tunnel were successfully concluded!
The TWEET-IE project TWT2 tests focus on wake interactions of a cluster of turbines and wake steering techniques. By implementing various wake control strategies it is possible to significantly increase the energy production of a wind farm.
A series of tests was carried out at TUM for two G1 wind turbine models, where wake control parameters like helix (blade pitching), rotor yaw and tilt angles were investigated, with and without ABL (atmospheric boundary layer) modeling. Experimental measurements included flow velocity, produced power and loads for a range of tip speed ratios.
